Valentina Vacó (Caracas, Venezuela, 1994) estudió en Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), donde obtuvo un "Foundation Diploma in Art and Design".
Valentina Vacó (Caracas, Venezuela, 1994) studied at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), obtaining a "Foundation Diploma in Art and Design". She later earned a bachelor's degree in photography from the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia in Barcelona. Currently, in her studio in Carabanchel, Madrid, she is dedicated to artistic production and exploration focused on painting.
Her work merges stylized realism with surrealist and modernist influences, characterized by life-sized figures, vibrant colors, and bold contrasts. Through expressive body language and dreamlike settings, she explores themes of spirituality, existentialism, and human psychology, creating emotionally charged compositions with deeper philosophical narratives.
Vacó employs Molotow inks, originally designed for street artists, applying them with brushes to achieve a fluid, polished, and almost digital appearance. This technique enables rapid, spontaneous experimentation, with layers of solid colors juxtaposed to create depth rather than blended shading. Her process integrates a personal photography archive, digital tools, and sketchbook studies, ensuring a balance between structured planning and intuitive execution.
Her style is defined by bold graphics, unconventional color palettes, and risky or crowded compositions that emphasize mystery and psychological depth. She often depicts blue human figures alongside fantastical creatures, addressing themes of nature, spirituality, youth, and human vices. Her work invites introspection, blending nostalgia with layered, often bittersweet narratives.
